Orvis Ring, Superintendent of Public Instruction, has made his apportionment of school money and shows Douglas County with 306 children between six and eighteen years to receive $1,637.55.

The Dangberg Land and Livestock Company has recently cleared four hundred acres of land below the Buckeye ranch which will be made ready for spring planting. With the aid of the big caterpillar engine and a new machine for grubbing sagebrush, the large tract was cleared in record time.

Officer O’Neill, of the federal narcotics squad, paid Gardnerville an unexpected visit last Saturday evening and conducted a raid at the Star restaurant. A quantity of narcotics and liquor assertedly found on the premises were seized and the proprietor Chang was placed under arrest.

The sale of Carson Valley’s first and only florist business, the Gardnerville Flower and Gift Shop, was announced this week. Mrs. Meta Christensen, who, with the late Mrs. Olga Schole, established the business at the corner of Main and Eddy streets 16 years ago, announced the sale to Mrs. Ethel Fleischer.
