Relief printing workshop at Lone Tree Gallery
San Francisco printmaker Eric Rewitzer is having a one-day workshop on relief printmaking 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Students of all experience levels are invited to bring a favorite image that they want to make a linoleum print out of.
Rewitzer will work with students on how to transfer image to the linoleum, how to carve it out, inking techniques and use of various tools for making relief prints. Students can expect to complete an edition of 10 prints using black ink on Rives BFK paper, as well as experiment with different printing techniques.
Cost is $100.
Rewitzer was born and raised on the industrial shores of Lake Michigan. He studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art, and moved to the west coast in 1987. He has been a resident of San Francisco since 1997.
His printmaking is informed by San Francisco’s vital mix of natural beauty and urban grit. His prints are sold in galleries and boutiques around the country, and are found in collections all over the world. Visit Eric and his wife, artist Annie Galvin at http://www.3fishstudios.com.
