Put the parade back
I don’t know who at the sheriff’s office and the chamber of commerce, in their infinite wisdom, decided to change the original Christmas parade route from Lampe Park, but it needs to go back to the way it was. We seniors are trying to stay warm while watching the parade. But you are leaving out El Aquila Real, Rancho Grande, Gadzooks, Country Carousel, CJs Floors and the antique stores, all of which have big windows and are nice and warm inside.
They also offer us hot drinks, and it doesn’t matter if we buy anything or not. They are always welcoming. We all need to be able to enjoy the parade. We understand the parade has been moved one block south to include the French Bar and J.T. Basque Bar & Dining Room, but it still leaves a lot of places out in the older part of town. They are some of the best places to watch from, and they work just as hard for the community as other businesses, and shouldn’t be excluded because it’s easier for our sheriff’s deputies.
