Staff Reports

Towering storm clouds captured the eye of Carson Valley Photo Club member Jeanette Hill. She grabbed her digital camera and shot the first-place photo in the club’s monthly contest.

Hill titled her winning entry “Clouds over Curry Street.”

Clouds was the theme of December/January competition.

Hill also captured second place with her photo of clouds enveloping the top of a mountain while returning from a trip to Portland.

Third place was awarded to Carol Heinricy for her shot of cloudy skies over Oahu, Hawaii.

Featured speaker was Richard Farrar, a Lake Tahoe resident and retired police officer, who shared his nature photos.

The club welcomes new members – amateurs to professionals. It meets the second Tuesday each month at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. Information, club president Dave Colon, 783-8600.
