Baby TunesThis introductory dance class for children ages 2-3 will include ballet, tap and creative movement. Class held 5-5:30 p.m. Mondays, March 18-April 15, or 9:30-10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5-26 at the Dance Workshop. Cost is $35.Beginning Irish DanceAges 7-17 can learn the basic techniques and steps of traditional Irish dance and have the opportunity to participate in the Virginia City St. Patrick Day Parade. Class held 6:15-7:15 p.m. Tuesdays, March 5-26 at the Dance Workshop. Cost is $55.Beginner’s Tai ChiLearn this soft martial arts form that will include warm ups, exercises and repetitions. Class will be Saturdays and is ongoing. Cost is $5 per month. All Day Scrapbooking WorkshopEnjoy a day to work on your scrap booking projects. Instructor Jackie Gordon will share ideas, and have tools available for use. Class will be 10 a.m.-10 p.m. March 9 at the Senior Center. Cost is $25 which includes a snack and waterIntroduction to SoaringLearn the basics of soaring including what it takes to fly a glider, as well as the basic aerodynamics and performance of gliders. Class held 6-9 p.m. March 23 at SoaringNV at the Minden-Tahoe Airport. Cost is $30.Concealed Weapon CertificationThis course will cover the requirements for Nevada State CCW and can be taken by CCW applicants or anyone wanting to learn to shoot handguns. Class will be 6-9:30 p.m. March 20 and 22 from at the Recreation Annex building, and 8-11 a.m. March 22 at Douglas County Shooting Range. Cost is $95 plus an additional $10 insurance fee payable to the instructor. Spouses are half price.Silk Painting ClassThis class will teach you how to paint on silk squares with silk dye which can be made into a wall hanging or pillow. Class held 1-4 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays, and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays at the Heart Strings Gallery.
