Mommy and Me Dance Class
This introductory dance class for children ages 1-2 will teach the basic movement and skills with mommy’s help. Class held 9:30 to 10 a.m. Thursdays, March 1-22 at the Dance Workshop. Cost is $30.
This introductory dance class for children ages 2-3 will include ballet, tap and creative movement. Class held 5-5:30 p.m. Mondays, March 5-26 or 9;30-10 a.m. Tuesdays, March 6-27 at the Dance Workshop. Cost is $30.
Mommy and Me Fitness
This class for children ages 2-4 is a blend of fitness exercises, gymnastics, tumble and fun. Class held 1-1:30 p.m. Tuesdays, March 6-27 at the West Coast Martial Arts. Cost is $49.
Ages 4 to 9 will learn in a disciplined but fun environment the martial arts, performing arts, gymnastics, grappling and self defense. Class will be 3:45-4:30 p.m. Tuesdays or Fridays. Introductory cost is $49 per month.
Flips and Trix Ages 6 to 17 will focus of proper form, floor skills, trampoline, flips, tricks, strength and coordination. Class will be 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Introductory cost is $49 per month.
In this class for ages 13 and up students will learn the basic techniques of renaissance swordsmanship. Class will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays at Jacks Valley Elementary School. Cost varies per month.
Learn how to start a composting worm bin. Class held 10-11:30 a.m. March 29 at the recreation annex building. Cost is $30.
Learn to establish good conduct and curb bad habits and help you teach basic commands. Class held 7-8 p.m. Wednesdays, March 7-April 25 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds building. Cost is $80.
This is a chance to learn and practice the fundamentals of many popular dances. Class will be 7:30-8:30 p.m. Fridays, March 9-30. Cost is $80 per couple or $45 for single.
This course will cover the requirements for Nevada State CCW and can be taken by CCW applicants or anyone wanting to learn to shoot handguns. Class will be 6-9:30 p.m. March 7 and 9 at the Recreation Annex building, and 8-11 a.m. March 10 at Douglas County Shooting Range. Cost is $90 plus an additional $10 insurance fee payable to the instructor. Spouses are half price.
Preserve your photos and learn to make hard and soft covered books, card, invitations and more. Class held 7-8:30 p.m. March 3 or 17 at the recreation annex building. Cost is $15 per class.
This is designed to assist students in continuing to attain practical conversations skills in Spanish for travel and everyday uses. Class held 7:15-8:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 13-May 3 at the recreation annex building. Cost is $100.
Occupational Spanish for
This basic course is designed to build oral communication skills in Spanish for those associated with a medical office. Doctors, dentists, nurses and professionals in the medical field will find this course helpful, especially for patient interaction. Classes are 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesdays, March 14-May 2 at the recreation annex building, 1327 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville. Cost is $100.
Take the challenge of learning photographic tricks with your camera, this hands on class is designed to help you understand the photographic process the fun way. Class held 7-9 p.m. Mondays, March 5-19 at the recreation annex building. Cost is $35.
Take Charge of your Digital Camera
Take the mystery out of your digital camera and take full advantage of what your camera can do beyond point-and-shoot. Class held 9 a.m.-4 p.m. March 24, and 7-9 p.m. March 30 at the recreation annex building. Cost is $35.
Scrap Booking – All Day Crop
Enjoy a day to work on your scrap booking projects. Instructor Jackie Gordon will share ideas, and have tools available for use. Class will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m. March 10 at the Senior Center. Cost is $10 which includes a snack and water.
Beginner’s Tai Chi
Learn this soft martial arts form that will include warm ups, exercises and repetitions. Class will be Saturdays and is ongoing. Cost is $5 per month.
Relax your mind and body with this Sivanada style yoga class. Class will be 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the recreation annex building. Cost is $40 per month.
