Ovituary: Gerald A. Prindiville
Gerald Andrew Prindiville, 94, died April 20, 2004 at his home in Gardnerville.
He was born June 26, 1909, to George Prindiville and Catherine Hurley in San Jose, Calif.
Dr. Prindiville was a university professor. He retired from California State University at Los Angeles in 1976 and moved to Carson City where he was married nearly 62 years ago. In Carson City he became active in local leadership of organizations championing the elderly: AARP, Nevada Retired Teachers Association and Common Cause. He had lived and worked in the field of education in Peru, Germany, Spain and El Salvador at various times in his career. He will be remembered by those who knew him for his tireless efforts to help others.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Prindiville of Gardnerville; son, Dennis of Fresno, Calif.; daughter, Catherine Kreuter of Salt Lake City, Utah; son, Michael (John) of Pasadena, Calif.; son George of Coppell, Texas; and daughter, Linda Conti of Sunnyvale, Calif.
A family memorial has taken place and inurnment will be private.
FitzHenry’s Crematory in Carson City and FitzHenry’s Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville were entrusted with arrangements.
