Obituary: William A. Wilson

U.S. Army Veteran; Gardnerville resident

William A. Wilson, 71, died Nov. 29, 2003 in Gardnerville.

He was born June 18, 1932 in Altoona, Penn.

A U.S. Army veteran, he worked as a homicide investigator with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department more than 30 years and retired in 1987.

William enjoyed golfing and softball and was an avid sports fan. His religious affiliation was Methodist.

Surviving are his wife Shirley Bailey Wilson of Gardnerville, son Terry Wilson of Glenwood Springs, Colo., son Butch Wilson of Puyallup, Wash., daughter Ellen Warren of Stillwater, Okla., daughter Sandra Huckfeldt of Campbell, Neb., daughter Louann Chavez of Murfreesboro, Tenn., daughter Tammy Wilson of Las Vegas, Nev., brother Dude Wilson of Torrance, Calif., nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Per his request, no services are scheduled.

Walton’s Chapel of the Valley in Carson City was in charge of arrangements.
