Obituary: Mildred Edith Little

Longtime Gardnerville resident

Mildred Edith Little, 81, died Dec. 6, 2003 at Tehama County Health Center in Red Bluff, Calif.

She was born Aug. 16, 1922 in Red Bluff, Calif.

She was raised in Red Bluff but spent most of her life in Gardnerville where she was employed by Contel/GTE as a telephone operator for 27 years. She retired in 1975 and returned to live in Red Bluff. Mildred enjoyed candy making, canning, and making jelly and pies.

She was predeceased by her son Bruce Johnson, brother Herbert Kyler, and sisters Rita Phelan and Margaret Castle.

Surviving are her son John P. Ithurburu of Smith Valley; son Clayton D. Johnson of Zephyr Cove; son Gary A. Johnson of Minden; daughter Alice Thomas of Pomona, Calif.; sister Elsie Bakerville of Red Bluff, Calif.; Ruth Hemstreet of Yuba City, Calif.; sister Esther Parker of Marysville, Calif.; sister Bette Pereira of Gerber, Calif.; sister Anita Sheets of Yuba City, Calif.; and 13 grandchildren.

Service will be Friday, Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. at Hoyt-Cole Chapel of Flowers in Red Bluff, Calif. with Pastor Steve Igarta officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Red Bluff.
