Obituary – John De Angelis

A private family service will be held for John F. De Angelis, 87, who died Jan. 15 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital in Carson City.

He was born July 3, 1913, in Asbury Park, N.J., to Archangelo and Rose Costarina De Angelis.

On May 11, 1939, he and Mary T. Guarisco were married in Jamaica, N.Y.

Mr. De Angelis served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a quality control inspector for General Motors Corp. in Van Nuys, Calif., for 20 years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers.

A Gardnerville resident for 23 years, Mr. De Angelis was known as an avid fisherman, a top-notch mechanic and a great bowler.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings.

Surviving are his wife Mary T. De Angelis of Gardnerville and brother Michael De Angelis of Hiawassee, Ga.
