National president of VFW to visit state
The national president of the Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars will be making her official visit to the department of Nevada.
Sandy Germany will arrive in Fallon, approximately 1 p.m., Jan. 4. There will be a car tour of the Army Depot in Hawthorne with the panoramic view of the ammo bunkers.
On Jan. 5, 11:30 to 3 p.m., there will be a reception for Germany at the Lawton-Silva Post 2002 in Fallon. There will be a roundtable gathering and refreshments to give the members a chance to meet and talk to President Germany.
A banquet will take place in Fallon at the golf course, Clubhouse Restaurant and Tavern, beginning at 6 p.m. with a no-host bar. Sit down dinner begins at 7 p.m. with a short program of entertainment.
Department president Walita Tom hopes to make this a memorable Nevada visit for Germany, with a good turn out of members.
President Germany is a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Alberta, Ala., eligible through her brother, Ronald, formerly in the U.S. Air Force, with two tours in Vietnam.
