Knights of Columbus Council now at St. Gall

Staff reports

A new Knights of Columbus Council has been formed by the St. Gall Catholic Community in Gardnerville. The new council, officially chartered on Jan. 19, will be known as the Immaculate Heart of Mary Council #12845.

Gardnerville resident Al Blythe has been appointed Grand Knight of the newly formed council. His duties include presiding over council meetings, as well as being responsible for the overall welfare of the council.

Father Bill Nadeau, pastor of St. Gall Church, will serve as chaplain for the new council.

The Knights of Columbus, a Catholic men’s organization, originally founded by Father Michael J. McGivney in 1882, is dedicated to serving both the church and the community in many ways.

Membership in the new council is open to all male practicing Catholics over 18 years of age. All interested men are urged to call membership director Dick Ficco at 265-9618 for membership information or additional information on the Knights of Columbus.
