Sewing club meets weekly, monthly
Fabric Chicks Club meets for sewing, quilting, and socializing 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday, and 10 a.m. to noon on the third Friday of the month at Fabric Chicks, 1166 Annie Court, Unit C, Minden. Trails meeting Monday
The Carson Valley Trails Association annual meeting is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday at the Genoa Town Hall. Updates given on Genoa Foothill Trail System project. Meeting includes updates on the Genoa Foothill Trail System and other CVTA projects and events. Displays, refreshments, no-host bar. Free and open to the public. WNC offers GED, English classes
Western Nevada College offers free GED preparation classes beginning 6 p.m. Jan. 19. Ongoing classes are 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in room 48, building C of Carson Valley Middle School. Free English language learning classes are offered evenings at Carson Valley Middle School. Registration is 6 p.m. Jan. 19 and 20 in room 48 at CVMS. Day classes held at the Douglas campus of WNC. Elks crab feed Jan. 28
Tahoe-Douglas Elks Lodge 2570 hosts their annual all-you-can-eat crab feed, 5 p.m. Jan. 28, at the CVIC Hall in Minden. Cocktails and social hour at 5 p.m., dinner 6 p.m. On the menu is Dungeness crab, clam chowder, shrimp, salad and garlic bread, or a 1-pound New York steak, (medium or well done only), with baked potato, salad, garlic bread and clam chowder. Vendors needed for Blankets, Burgers & Brews
Food and dessert vendors are needed for Main Street Gardnerville’s Blankets, Burgers & Brews, 5-10 p.m. July 23, at Heritage Park on Gilman Avenue in Gardnerville.
