Holiday weekend filled with activities

The lighting of the Minden gazebo and tree will take place Friday. Crafts booths open at noon.

Live music and refreshments start at 5:30 p.m.

The gazebo and tree lightning is at 6 p.m.

The Parade of Lights, which begins at Lampe Park on Saturday at 5 p.m., includes a festive parade of floats and marching bands.

This year’s theme is “Winter in the Sierra.” The parade concludes at Minden Park.

The event is sponsored by the Carson Valley Chamber and Visitors Authority.

Carson Valley Art Association is sponsoring the annual Kid’s Craft Fair on Saturday at CVIC Hall from 4 to 8 p.m. in Minden.

Santa, his elf and llamas, adorned in Christmas attire, will greet the children and pictures may be taken.

Christmas kits for assembling at the hall or home may be purchased by the youths for less than a dollar. Face-painting by one of the artists will be available.

The CVIC sparkles with Christmas decorations and fronts the parade route of the annual Parade of Lights sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.
