Thank you Douglas County, for the best Share Your Christmas Food Drive in it’s 21-year history. I am so proud of the way our community steps up to the plate and supports its fellow community members. This extreme show of support allows us to fight food insecurity in Douglas County by providing supplemental food to those struggling with hunger. Together you raised more than 100,000 pounds of food and over $50,000.

We wish to thank each and every one of you who participated in this year’s event, although that would take more room than we have here. Please know that each donation made, no matter how big or small, is one more meal for a hungry child, adult or senior in our community, and that it is truly appreciated. We also owe a big thank you to Carson Valley Inn for their event space and major monetary donation, Sierra Canopy for providing our heating, The Entertainer for use of the tent, and to Channel 2 News, Arianna Bennett, Chris Ciarlo, Adam Varahachaikol and the rest of the news team for their endless coverage and enthusiasm for this cause.

To all of you, we are humbled by your support. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
