Giving thanks for what we have
Today many people are on the road to gather with family and friends to celebrate the many things we have for which to be thankful.
Others are hosting those travelers, preparing for the holiday in other ways.
During all this hustle and bustle, it’s important to remember those things we have to be thankful for.
It has been a hard year on the economic front for most people, but we’ve seen hard times before and we will again. Some will be looking a little harder for those things to be thankful for, but we wager they’re there.
One of the things we’re thankful for is the generous spirit shown by Carson Valley residents during these difficult times.
Many of our organizations dedicated to helping the needy like Project Santa Claus and the Carson Valley Community Food Closet rely on donations to continue their good works.
We’re thankful for Carson Valley’s many service organizations who adopt good causes here at home to raise money for.
And we’re thankful for the good people of Carson Valley who often give their time and their resources when emergencies arise.
This is a good time for us to remember the good things we have and to remember those who are in real need of help.
