Genoa Cowboy Poetry Festival is May 5-8

The Genoa Cowboy Poetry & Music Festival, a blend of heritage, Western culture and entertainment in Nevada’s oldest settlement, is May 5-8.

The festival features poets, storytellers, singers and is sponsored by Town of Genoa and the Carson Valley Arts Council.

Headliners include cowboy poet Paul Zarzyski, entertainer Dave Stamey, and Belinda Gail, Wylie & the Wild West, David John & the Comstock Cowboys, Doris Daley, Sourdough Slim.

The event includes workshops, Western art galleries, a Native American Center, cowboy dinners and dances and opportunities to shop for western clothing, collectibles, jewelry and tack. There’s a trail ride with barbecue dinner and concert, and a Mother’s Day brunch and concert.
