Fall images win photo contest
Fall colors were captured at their peak by members of the Carson Valley Photo Club.
Sandra Jonkey took both first and second place in the club’s monthly photo contest. Top honors went to “Fall in the Mud, Hope Valley,” a picture of Aspen trees in full autumn color reflected in a mud puddle. She titled the other winner “Virginia in the Rain,” a study of colorful leaves on the ground, speckled with water droplets.
Third pace went to Tim Ford for “Color on 88,” a panoramic of Aspen trees.
Gordon Allen, president of Gordon’s Photo Service in Carson City and Reno, discussed his business, which, he said, has been strongly impacted by recent disasters including the earthquake in Japan.
The club welcomes new members – amateurs to professionals. It meets the second Tuesday each month at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. Information, club president Dave Colon, 783-8600.
