The Sustainable Growth Committee takes pleasure in announcing its endorsement of Dave Brady for re-election to the Board of County Commissioners of Douglas County for District 2. We did so in 2006 and our prediction of sincere and intelligent service to our community by Mr. Brady has turned out to be an accurate assessment. We expect that Douglas County residents will continue to benefit from his astute leadership abilities and financial expertise during these difficult economic times. He now serves as the vice chairman on the Board of County Commissioners.
David Brady’s background is impressive. He graduated from the University of Southern California, magna cum laude, with a bachelor of science degree in public affairs, as well as a master’s degree in public administration. He later earned a public management certificate from UNR. His prior public service includes serving on the Douglas County Parks & Recreation Commission and as a Douglas County School Board trustee which included serving as president of the board for two years. For the past eleven years he has served as a reserve deputy sheriff in Douglas County. With all that, he continues with his long career as a certified financial planner in private practice.
Serving on the board of county commissioners is no easy job for one who takes his responsibilities seriously as does David Brady. One of the prerequisites for such service is being prepared for each meeting by reviewing and analyzing the huge packet of agenda item documentation beforehand. From my own knowledge of David Brady, he does his homework. He also continues to be pro-active in assuring that the board is responsive to its citizens and remains sensitive to the need for insisting that transparency prevails at all levels of county government. He is very approachable and responsive to individuals and groups in our community. He deserves our vote.
