Community Messiah Sing takes place Dec. 11

Record Courier Staff Reports

The audience is invited to participate in the Carson Valley Community Messiah Sing, a tradition in Gardnerville for the last 14 years.

This year, the interactive concert will take place at 7 p.m. on Dec. 11 at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville.

Local soloists will perform certain songs on their own, while other choruses include the audience, if they would like.

“If you would like to, come sing, join in, or just come and listen,” said Len Freuh.

Alan Jones will conduct the singers and John O’Neill will conduct the orchestra, the Carson Valley Sinfonia. The two will work together, leading the musicians cooperatively, according to Freuh.

Keyboard accompanists are Laura Barrett and Hazel Dunn.

Admission is free.

“It’s a very casual affair, with several churches and organizations involved, said Freuh.
