Comedy, tribute show at CVI in February
The Carson Valley Inn presents live comedy with headliner Kenny Bob Davis, featured performer Tim Haldemen, and host Marc Yaffee on Feb. 5. Doors open at 7:45 p.m., show starts at 8:30 p.m.
Kenny Bob Davis has opened for George Burns, Willie Nelson, Ramsey Lewis, Kenny Rogers, Roy Clark, Vince Gill, and Larry Gatlin. He’s appeared in commercials and in film and TV productions such as “Gremlins,” “ER,” “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody,” “Sisters,” and “Murder She Wrote.”
Actor and comedian Tim Haldeman has appeared at comedy clubs in California, Nevada, Washington and Oregon. He played Elliot Blair in “Dante’s Peak” and guest starred in “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody,” “ER,” “Cold Case” and “The Drew Carey Show.”
Native American comedian Marc Yaffee has written for George Carlin’s Laugh.com and appeared in Showtime’s “Goin’ Native,” “Comics Unleashed” and PBS and SiTV’s Latino Laugh Festival. His radio credits include SiriusXM, NPR’s “Weekend America,” and “The Bob & Tom Show.”
The comedy show includes some adult material not suitable for all audiences. Must be 21 or older to attend. Cost of $15 includes two drinks.
Entertainer Jourdan Carroll presents his Barry White tribute show, Feb. 12, in the Valley Ballroom of the Carson Valley Inn. Doors open at 6:45 p.m., show starts at 7:30 p.m.
Also known as Big Daddy Boo Bear, Carroll has an unmistakable resemblance to Barry White. His distinctive bass voice sets the romantic stage for Valentine’s Day weekend with the hits “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love, Babe,” “Let the Music Play,” “You’re the First, the Last, My Everything” and more from the legendary ’70s pop star.
