Comedy night at Jethro’s Live
Kat Simmons is bringing comedy night to Jethro’s Live featuring Marc Yaffee and Adam Stone.
Showtime is 8 p.m. July 27. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. No smoking is allowed and guests must be 18 years or older.
Yaffee was adopted at birth and confused ever since. He takes his audiences on a comedy joyride as he explores his mulch-ethnic roots and the culture clashes that fill his world. Yaffee has appeared on PBS, Comics Unleashed, The Latino Laugh Festival and the historic Showtime special, Goin’ Native: The American Indian Comedy Slam. A former writer for George Carlin’s laugh.com, Yaffee has toured five times overseas entertaining U.S. troops. His national radio credits include NPR’s Weekend America, Sirius XM Radio and multiple appearances on the Bob & Tom Show.
Adam Stone is a Hawaiian native, and shares his unique experience in the mainland as a minority among minorities.
“Have fun, give fun” is Stone’s motto. With an intent to truly embrace the moment and connect with people, Stone gets the audience laughing with material, physical comedy, improvisation and silly impressions, all through an onstage persona that is endearing and likeable.
Host and producer, Kat Simmons, will kick the show off, with her true to life experiences.
“Between Marc and Adam’s heritage and brown skin, and my red hair and freckles, all ethnicities will be represented at this show,” Simmons said. “I keep hoping my freckles will merge into a tan, but so far, no luck.”
Simmons is on hiatus for the summer from the revue she tours with, The 3 Blonde Moms, which she will be bringing to the Carson Nugget in September.
Live music before and after the show provided by Daniel Gaughan.
Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door at Jethro’s, 1281 Kimmerling Road, Gardnerville, or by calling 265-2215.
