Carson Valley Pops disappointing
The Carson Valley Pops Orchestra’s 4th of July performance was disappointing. The musicians were great, the musical selections dismal for the occasion. The 4th is not Memorial Day, it is a celebration of the beginnings of our great nation. What’s wrong with some timeless George M. Cohan or Irving Berlin?
Obviously, the crowd wanted to clap their hands and tap their feet, but were given little opportunity to do so.
Woodie Guthrie, three chords on a guitar, when all those fine musicians and instruments were gathered (including a great tuba)? For shame.
