The Young at Heart Senior Citizens Club will host a Bingo party Feb. 20 at the senior center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville. Doors open at noon. Carson Pass ski tour
California State Parks will sponsor a ski tour at Grover Hot Springs State Park, Feb. 20. A Sno-Park permit is required. The tour is five to six miles round-trip, five hours. Participants will meet at 10 a.m. at the parking lot area at Carson Pass on Highway 88. They should take skis, lunch and appropriate clothing for variable weather. Information, (530) 694-2248.
The Soroptimist International of Carson Valley’s annual Savor the Flavor Wine and Microbrew Tasting will be held Feb. 26, 6-9 p.m. at the Sierra Nevada Golf Ranch north of Genoa on Jacks Valley Road. Food, wine and microbrewed beer will be featured. All people who purchase a ticket for Savor the Flavor will have the opportunity to win a door prize, and ticket purchasers need not be present to win. An auction of a wide assortment of gifts, from building materials to homemade goodies, will be held. Soroptimists members are selling Megabucks tickets before and during the event. Snowshoe to Scott’s Lake
California State Parks will sponsor a snowshoe hike at Grover’s Hot Springs State Park Feb. 26. For the immediate snowshoer in good condition, this is a pleasant hike through pine forests up to Scott’s Lake. The tour is four miles round-trip, four hours. Participants will meet at 10 a.m. at Picketts Junction. They should take snowshoes, snacks, water, sunscreen and layered clothing. Information, (530) 694-2244.

Participants will start the cold winter evening by the outdoor fire, roasting hot dogs, then take a jaunt out in the moonlit meadow. After wards, they may want to go for a soak in the hot pool. The tour is two miles round trip, three hours. Participants will meet at 6 p.m. at the campground extra vehicle parking lot. Auction, wine tasting
The Carson City Democratic Central Committee will host an auction and wine tasting at the Carson City Nugget Feb. 29, 5-8 p.m. Along with musical entertainment, there will be an auction of items, including a gold blue lapis pendant, a union registered poster of John F. Kennedy, gemstone angel pendants, original artwork by artist Michelle Gabler and services by businesses and entertainers. The door prize is a free-form Ametrine pendent. Tickets are $20. The Carson Valley Quilt Guild will feature national speaker Jackie Robinson at its meeting Feb. 28, 7 p.m., Carson Valley United Methodist Church, Gardnerville.
