A rummage and book sale will be held today, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at the library lawn-community park in Markleeville. Proceeds will go to the Alpine County Friends of the LIbrary. The Alpine County Library in Markleeville also will be dedicated today, noon, by grand officers of the Native Sons of the Golden West and Alpine dignitaries. Following the dedication will be a horseshoe tournament at Turtle Rock Park, 1:30 p.m., with a barbecue following. Proceeds go to cleft palate programs. The fourth annual Antique Engine and Tractor Show will be held today and Sunday at Bill Ramsden’s home at the corner of Stephanie Lane and Heybourne Road. Antique tractors and engines and other early-day farm equipment will be in running displays. Cost is $3. Children under 12 years old are free. Today, it will be open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Refreshments will be served by the Sertoma Club.
The Carson Valley FFA Car Wash will be held at the Stratton Center Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
