Basque culture topic of November lecture series
Basque culture, history of aspen tree carving, and shepherding are the topics of the Nov. 10 lecture series at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Hwy 395, Gardnerville.
Richard Potashin and Nancy Hadlock have been researching Basque culture for many years. Hadlock has been a park ranger for 30 years, and is currently employed at Lava Beds National Monument.
Potashin worked as a park ranger at Manzanar National Historic Site. Lecture begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $3, free to Douglas County Historical Society members. For more information call 782-2555.
