Apr 16, 1924 – Nov 01, 2016

Ruth Lorraine Sherman “Aunt Ruth”, 92, passed on November 1, 2016 at Carson Tahoe Hospital after a long fulfilled life.

Born on April 16, 1924 in Turlock, California, Ruth moved from San Leandro and retired to Gardnerville nearly 30 years ago. During her time here she worked for the Douglas County School District as a Special Education Bus Aide.

Ruth was extremely kind and caring and as honest as they come. She had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh and smile. Ruth spent her free time caring for many children of the valley including her great nieces. She also thoroughly enjoyed swimming at the Carson Valley Swim Center nearly daily until the time she was 90. Ruth was an avid baker and was often found baking cookies for many of her beloved friends and family. Ruth had a love for animals, especially “her” dogs, that was second to none. She was a loving, hardworking, and dedicated friend and family member whom was loved greatly and will be missed by all. She will always be remembered.

Ruth is survived by her nephew David Ruby, his wife Shirley Ruby, great nieces Kerri Ruby and Kristi (Ruby) Stone.

A Celebration ofLlife for Ruth, “Aunt Ruth” as she was known to most, will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Shadow Mountain Church 1311 Centerville Lane Gardnerville, NV starting at 2 pm. Please join us in celebrating our great Aunt!
