Ronald Merritt Morris

Ronald passed away peacefully at Carson Tahoe Medical Center on Thursday, September 22, 2016. He was 75 years old.

Ronald was born in Ada, OK, where he graduated from Ada High School in 1959. He then attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK, and later graduated from East Central University in Ada, OK, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Math and Physics in 1962.

After graduating Ron moved to St. Louis, MO, where he worked as a Supervisory Cartographer for the Department of Defense for over 31 years. Ronald retired from the Civil Service in 1994.

Ronald and Grace moved to Gardenerville after he retired, because they loved the mountains and the scenery. He loved to spoil his three dogs; Windie, Stormy, and Cody. He was also a regular at the Carson Valley Inn where he enjoyed playing in the poker room with his friends. He also loved to go to Hamdogs with Grace and his neighbor Walt. Ron loved football, and was a huge OU Sooners fan.

Ron is survived by his Wife of 30 years, Grace Morris; His 8 Children, Ronald Merritt Morris, Patrick Morris, Keli Morris, Zoi Kondis, Nick Kondis, Dana Stockwell, Jami Morris, and Andrew Morris; His 8 Grandchildren, Michelle Stockwell, Amber Stockwell, Autumn Morris, Sela Morris, Maceo Morris, Evangelina Texcucano, Marina Kondis, and Demetrios Kondis.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden at 4:00pm in the Pine Nut room.
