Loretta New Moon
July 28, 1948 – May 11, 2014
Our mother, grandmother, loving wife Loretta New Moon born on July 28, 1948 to Evan Wyatt and Teena Frank Wyatt of Dresslerville, Nevada, entered into Eternal Life on May 11, 2014. She is a member of the Washoe Tribe of California and Nevada and resided on the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe reservation where she made a loving home and raised her family for the past 36 years. Loretta Wyatt and George New Moon were married in 1969 and had 4 children: Monika Deanne New Moon, Holly Annette New Moon, George Haynes New Moon, Jr and Seneca Rudy New Moon. They also have 14 grandchildren whom they also raised and were her pride and joys: Autumn Dove New Moon (Dovey), Chrissie Deanne New Moon (her baby), Stormy Angel Hawk New Moon, Stewart Sky Hawk New Moon, Mariah Lynn New Moon, Tae Eagle New Moon, Shayna New Moon, Baby George New Moon, Seneca Duran New Moon, Aye’o IrahNew Moon, Kilo Tyson New Moon, Shiah Star New Moon, Silus New Moon and Great grandson on the way Remy Lo New Moon. Mom graduated from Sherman High School in Riverside California in 1966; she attended Stewart Indian Boarding School in Carson City, NV and also Haskell Jr College in Lawrence Kansas. She was a Dental Assistant and was a Supervisor at National Data Corporation and Nevada Bell for 20+ years. Mom showed by example her strength and love for everyone that came into her life. Mom and her sisters; our loving aunts, Rosaline Carvin, Florine Conway, Bernadine James, Eleanor Smokey, Kay Simpson, Denise Pitts and Julie Barr shared an even stronger bond of also being sisters in the Lord instilling the values of love, kindness, patience, generosity, and hospitality in each of us. Her loving brother Art Selman, whom she confided in often, currently lives in Dresslerville. Mom had unconditional love for all her nieces and nephews and has that way of making you feel so special. Other friends of the family she had love for include: Jessica Quartz, Emily Carrillo, Patricia Victor, Jamie Yazzie, Sequoia New Moon, and Ray Bones Lowery. Mom has a huge family who loves her dearly. The Lord has blessed us with this beautiful woman who will be in our hearts forever. She ispreceded in death by her parents, sister Deanna Johnson, brothers Wes Wyatt, Elwood Wyatt, Tony Malin, and Eugene Frank. Services will be held at Dresslerville Gym on Saturday May 17, 2014 at 11:00 am. Ephesians 6 Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. Honor thy father and thy mother that it may be well with thee and thou mayest live long on the earth.
