Linda K. Ruisi, age 74, died Sunday, June 26, 2016, from injuries sustained in an accident. Smiling, laughing, loving, praying and being of service to God and her community guided Linda. Linda cared deeply for her family and extended family. She had many friends she treasured and kept in her thoughts and prayers. Linda was preceded in death by brother, David Dietz; mother Katheryn Dietz; father Samuel Dietz; father-in-law Dr. Joe Ruisi; brother-in-law Charlie Ruisi; brother-in-law Paul Ruisi; nephew Robert Ruisi. Linda leaves the love of her life, Joe Ruisi; son Joe Dozal and wife Paula; grandson Logan; sister Marty Spurrell; sister-in-law Mary Ann Dietz; nephew Mike Dietz and wife Nicole; niece

Debbie Dietz; mother-in-law Mary Ruisi; sister-in-law Sandra Greenwood and Richard Billings; sister-in-law Paula Ruisi; godson Ryan Glynn; and grand nieces and grand nephews. Born at the Queen of Angeles Hospital in L.A.. She felt her childhood was truly the golden age of California. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy (class of 1960) in L. A. and always looked forward to catching up with her many friends at the reunions. In 1962, Linda received a degree from the L.A. Community College and took additional business courses at Ca. State L.A.. In 1983, Linda began working at North American Aviation (N.A.A.). Through hard work, resilience, and skill she advanced in the company and kept her job even as N.A.A. became Rockwell N. A. changing to Boeing N.A. and finally turning into Boeing I. D. S. As an executive assistant, Linda jokingly stated that her job was to train new V.P.s. She survived mergers, buyouts, layoffs, rebranding, renaming, and headquarter moves to retire with full benefits after 28 years. While working full-time and raising a son as a single mother, Linda lived in Manhattan Beach and then purchased her own home in Gardena. After raising her son, Linda realized that she needed to start taking care of her own life. She spent a great deal of time working on her desire to have healthy and fulfilling relationships with others and herself. She took up western and ballroom dancing. She started running and participated in many 5K races. She fell in love with Joe Ruisi. She and Joe found their way back to their Catholic faith. She moved to Redondo Beach and obtained her certification as a Stephen Minister. Linda inspired others to heal, forgive, pray, and trust in God’s plan. Shortly after retiring, Linda and Joe relocated to Gardnerville, Nevada. At the age of 70, Linda took up golf and played with the Genoa Lakes Ladies Golf group. Linda joined the Sierra Nevada Republican Women’s Group and the Douglas County Republican Central Committee where she believed that nothing she did to support her candidates was too small and that every little thing made a difference. Linda was a parishioner at St. Gall’s where she participated in the Women’s Scripture Sharing Group and acted as the event chair of St. Gall’s Women’s Society annual luncheon, fashion show and ladies expo. As others learned, whatever goal Linda set her mind on she achieved. Linda enjoyed candle light dinners with her husband. Sunsets on the beach. Trips to the desert to relax. Entertaining friends and family, shopping, taking care of herself, her home, and the people she loved.

A mass will be held on July 16, 2016, 10:00 a.m., at St. Gall’s, Gardnerville, NV.
