A funeral mass for Leona J. Fritz will be held at 1:00P.M. On Saturday, May 30th, 2015 at St. Gall‘s Catholic Church, 1343 Centerville Rd. Gardnerville, NV, 89410, with a Rosary prayer service preceding at 12:30 P.M. Leona was born on August 17th, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from Holy Name High School, and worked for the Navy Dept. Bureau of Supplies and Accounts during WWII. She married her husband, Adam, after his return from active duty in Europe during the war. Later, she worked for Sears in various positions including sales, inventory control, and customer service. Lee and Adam moved to Napa, CA in 1979, then to Gardnerville, NV in 1987, where she was a member of St. Gall’s Catholic Community. She loved family actives and her volunteer work at St. Gall’s. She had been a Eucharistic Minister providing the sacrament for those restricted to care facilities, a member of the Hospitality committee, Women’s Society, a lector, and a greeter. Additionally, she also volunteered time at the community food closet. Leona is preceded in death by Adam, her husband of 60 years, parents, Anton and Wanda Nawrocki, brothers, Richard and Daniel Nawrocki, and Grandson Brian. She is survived by her son, Dave, grandchildren Elena Combs, and Jesse Fritz, great grandchildren Travis Linn, Ali, Wyatt, and Sydney Combs. Nieces Linda Hammerle, Karen Kuzma, and Ann Marie Hudnall, nephew Rick Nawrocki, sister in law Norna Nawrocki. A reception will immediately follow the funeral mass.
