In Loving Memory of Kenneth Steven Hulshof

June 6, 1952 ~ December 13, 2016

Kenneth was born in Los Angeles, California on June 6, 1952 and died on December 13, 2016 at Renown in Reno with his brother Jeff and his wife Marty at his bedside.

Ken was a native Californian, born and raised in Los Angeles until 1975, when he was transferred from Osterbauer Compressor Service in LA to a branch office in San Diego. Ken was a 31 year employee of Osterbauer Compressor Service. He worked his way up from an entry level position to branch manager by the time he was 25. Ken was a fair and mentoring boss who was very well regarded by the other employees of Osterbauer. I never knew anyone who had an unkind word for Kenneth.

In 2006, Ken and his wife Marty retired to life in TRE. This area was like paradise to Ken. The three things he loved to do most, were within miles of each other.; fish at the lake, gamble at the lodge and hike in the beautiful hills and valleys surrounding TRE with his brother Jeff.

Ken is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marty; his son Jamey Chambers; his brother Jeff (Mike & Dolores) Hulshof; his sister Fran (Buddy, Marisa) Fain; and his brother Mike (Linda, John, Kim) Hulshof; numerous great-nieces and nephews, aunt, uncle and cousin. Ken was the youngest sibling.

Ken was a loved and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was kind, unfailingly generous, and he could always find humor in any situation. He was loved so much; he will be missed everday – forever.

There will be a Celebration of Ken’s life on June 3, 2017 at 11 am at 3904 Topaz Ranch Rd.

In lieu of flowers, Ken was an enthusiastic donor to the Cat Protection Society, or the Wounded Warrior Project, or the Nevada Food Bank. A donation in Ken’s name would be a kind manner to honor him.
