Floyd Rogers Furnish, Jr.

June 12, 1960 – August 14, 2016

Floyd was born in the Ridgecrest Hospital to Sandra and Floyd Sr. on June 12, 1960. He graduated from Burroughs High School in 1979.

After High School, he attended Hobart School of Welding Technology in Troy, Ohio. He once remarked “I can weld anything but the crack of dawn or a broken heart.” Floyd worked in several of the western states on various projects. He was held in high esteem by all who worked with him, and was regarded as a highly skilled welder and valuable employee.

Floyd (Tiger to his family and those who knew him throughout his life) was a very kind hearted, sensitive and caring person. He enjoyed sports, fishing, helping family and friends, and watching “his Bengels” during football season.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Marie Furnish, his grandparents, Floyd B. and Julianna Furnish, William (Bill) and Geri Wright, his Aunt Mary Santerre, and his step-father, Jose J. Yglesias.

Floyd is survived by his mother, Sandra Yglesias, his father, Floyd Sr., his uncles Dwight and James Furnish and their families, his uncle Bill Wright and family, his Aunt Sally McKenzie and family, nephew, Craig Black, and cousins Lisa Cleaver and Charles Brill.

Floyd (Tiger) will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private graveside service arranged by Holland & Lyons Mortuary is planned for September 9, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Ridgecrest Cemetary. He will be laid to rest with his beloved sister in Ridgecrest, CA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a favorite animal shelter or other charity of choice.
