Donald “Don” Rooker

Donald “Don” Rooker, passed away on May 6, 2015, at his farm in Mountain Home, Ark.Born in McAlester, Okla., on July 27, 1935, Don was a 40-year resident of Carson Valley. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force communications division for four-plus years in Germany. Don introduced franchise Real Estate to the Carson Valley when he brought the first Century 21 franchise here. He held the highest designation held by a Real Estate professional, the coveted Certified Commercial Investment Member designation. He loved commercial Real Estate and participated in the development of Chichester Ranch and Stodick Estates, and other commercial ventures. He played a large part in youth sports in Carson Valley. He loved coaching and was a Scout leader. Don and wife, Toni, participated in Youth For Understanding, a foreign exchange program, and was proud of the family relationships he enjoyed with the exchange students they sponsored. Don is survived by sons Ron and Patrick; daughter Cynthia; granddaughters Lena, Macy and Chloe; grandsons Domonic and Rocco; brother Jay and Sister Marie Shive.
