Cletus “Clete” Wandler AKA,”Bones”

Clete was born to Anton and Magdalen Wandler in New England, ND. He was raised on a farm and graduated from Haynes High School. After high school, Clete joined the United States Army and served for 2 years. After proudly serving his country, he returned home and began working for Adams County Creamery inHettinger, ND where he began his many years of experience in the dairy business. He married his beautiful wife, Georgette, in 1965. They moved to Carson City, NV in 1967 where he worked for Model Dairy. After a few years, Model Dairy offered Clete an opportunity to buy a route and dairy truck with which he started his first business named Clete Wandler Distributing later renamed to Comstock Distributing. He owned and operated his dairy distributorship for over 30 years. During this time, Clete was actively involved in his community and was proud to give back by contributing to numerous organizations and local events. Clete became a member of the Dayton community by purchasing the Dayton Market which he owned and operated for over 20 years. Clete later built, owned and operated multiple casinos, most notably opening the first casino in Dayton, NV named the Dayton Depot later renamed to The Depot Casino. Most recently, Clete built, owned and operated the Dayton RV Park which is now owned and operated by the Wandler family. Clete was preceded in death by his Father Anton, Mother Magdalen, and brother Lyle. Clete leaves to cherish his memory his wife Georgette, son Troy (Mindy), grandson Brandon, sister Linda (Lyman), brother Linus (Maxine), brother LaVerne (Maureen), and many extended family and friends. A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 2pm-4pm at Silver Oak Golf Course at 1251 Country Club Drive, Carson City, NV.
