Anthony “Tony” Vaughn, a resident of Minden, NV passed away peacefully on Memorial Day, May 30, 2016. He was 77 years old.After graduating from Eagle Rock High School in Los Angeles, CA, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he spent the next six years as a military policeman.Four of these six years were spent near Stuttgart, West Germany. After leaving the Army in 1962, Tony joined the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff. In 1966 he became a traffic officer with the California Highway Patrol.He served in South Los Angeles, King City, South Lake Tahoe and Redding Areas.He retired in 1983 due to injuries. He then worked in Redding as a Certified Para Legal for fifteen years.

He was a very active member of the American Legion, VFW and the Elks Lodge for thirty one years.He is survived by his loving wife Donna, his beloved daughters, Debbie Cauley and Pat Thorpe, their children and grandchildren all of who live in California.There will be a memorial service on Saturday, July 30th at 11:00am at the Gardnerville Elks Lodge, 1227 Kimmerling Road, Gardnerville, NV. All of Tony’s many friends and fraternal members are cordially invited to attend. A reception will follow.Donations in Tony’s name , if desired, should be sent to the American Legion, Veterans Guest House in Reno or the Gardnerville Elks Lodge #2670, Veteran Programs.
