Stephanie Cecilia Coleman

May 3, 1957 - January 29,2025

Stephanie Cecilia Coleman passed away peacefully on
Wednesday, January 29th at UCSF Medical Center in San
Francisco, California after a long illness. Stephanie was
born in Manchester, England to Denis and Mary Coleman
on May 3, 1957. The family moved to Montreal, Canada,
and later to Stamford, Connecticut. Stephanie is survived by
her daughters Laura Lunde of San Francisco, California and
Brooke Kaszynski of Lafayette, Colorado; six grandchildren;
her mother, Mary Coleman of Centerville, Massachusetts;
her sisters Philippa Goodman of Poughkeepsie, New York,
Susan Coleman of Oakland, CA, Helen Coleman of Carson
City, and her brother Robert Coleman of Dennis Port,
Massachusetts. She also leaves behind her companion
and confidante, Rande Jenus of Reston, Virginia.

Stephanie attended the University of Connecticut, where
she completed her undergraduate degree and Masters
Degree in Business Administration. She began her career
as an appraiser with Bank of America in Oakland, California
and then as an independent appraiser. She later joined
the Appraisal Institute as Director of Screening, where she
developed and taught training courses, wrote textbooks, and
served on key national committees. She received many
awards, including the 2019 Bert L. Thornton Presidents
Award, the 2021 Dr. William N Kinnard, Jr. Award, and the
2023 J. Scott Robinson Lifetime Achievement Award.

Throughout her life, Stephanie was an avid distance
runner and a swimmer, and she especially loved hiking,
backpacking, and cross-country skate-skiing in the Sierras.
She was known by everyone for her kind, gracious spirit,
her wry sense of humor, and her indefatigable energy.

Stephanie was a member of the Dharma Zephyr Insight
Meditation Community, meditating and studying Buddhism
with The Middle Way Sangha in Carson City. She will be
remembered there for her dedication, warmth, wisdom,
openness, courage and beautiful smile.
