Ralph Jessup Phillips Jr., long time resident of Carson City, Nevada, passed away peacefully on April 5th at the age of 99 Years old.
Ralph was born on December 13, 1925, to Ralph and Mary Phillips, Sr. in Pueblo, Colorado. The family moved to San Diego, California where Ralph grew up, graduated, and then on to pursue his Engineering Degree at the University of Wyoming. He enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged after the end of World War II. He worked for the Wyoming Highway Department then obtained a job with Nevada State Highway Department and retired as Chief Traffic Engineer. Ralph was multi-talented: a photographer, a potter, woodworker, oil and watercolor artist. He was a member of the Brewery Art’s Guild, a member of the Nevada Artist Guild and a member of the Carson Valley Photo Club. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mary Phillips, his brother Frank Phillips, nephews Bruce and Frank Jr.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Lou of 58 years. His step-son Greg Juchtzer (Donna) his step-daughter Cindy Wolff (Gerry) three grandchildren, Jesse Juchtzer (Jenny) Luke Wolff and Kelsey Wolff and one great-grandson, Broden Juchtzer. His brother, Martin Phillips of Spokane, Washington, nieces, Anne, Jane, and Kate, and nephew Ken Phillips.
Services will be help on Saturday May 10, 2025, at the Carson City Elks Lodge. 515 N. Nevada Street, Carson City Nevada at 1:30 PM in the afternoon.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Ralph’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Brewery Arts Center.
