John Perry Comeaux, aged 79, passed away in the morning on February 15, 2025.
He was a beloved father, husband, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Perry was born in May in Pensacola, where he spent his formative years. He went on to attend Florida State University where he received his BS in Accounting. He later went on to become a licensed CPA. In 1980 he moved to Carson City to take a position in administration for the Nevada State Prison.
He then went on to become the Director of the Department of Taxation. His final position was the State Budget Director working for several Governors. He retired in 2006 with over 25 years in state government. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.
In his free time, Perry enjoyed golfing, fishing, and watching football. He was an avid FSU Football fan. But more than anything, Perry loved spending time with his family. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced. He enjoyed most evenings of his retirement sitting on his back porch visiting with family and friends.
Perry is survived by his loving wife Diane Comeaux, his children Aaron and Sara; his step children, Macina and Bryan; his grandchildren Javen, Cameron, Chandler, Penny, Paige, Matthew, Aubree, and Ben; great grandchildren MJ, Mathieu, and Thea; and his sister, Penny Wagner.
His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

in Carson City 11 am.
