Woman killed in Kingsbury collision
The driver of a sport utility vehicle involved in a collision on Kingsbury Grade died from her injuries, the Nevada Highway Patrol reported.
Kingsbury Grade remained closed for more than six hours, after a Nissan Pathfinder and a motorhome collided a mile and a half down the Carson Valley side.
The head-on collision was reported at 1:21 p.m.
A passenger in the Pathfinder and three other people were transported with injuries by helicopter and ground ambulance.
At least two people had to be cut from the wreckage, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
East Fork and Tahoe Douglas firefighters responded to the wreck, in addition to deputies and Nevada Highway Patrol troopers.
Three helicopters responded to carry the most seriously injured for treatment.
Douglas County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Bernadette Smith said three patients were transported by air ambulance, and two patients by ground ambulance.
Nevada Highway Patrol Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the collision.
