WNCC honor society named
The Western Nevada Community College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society for two-year colleges inducted 31 new members for the 1997-1998 academic year. Members are from throughout the college’s seven-county service area.
PTK was founded in 1918 and now has more than 1,000 chapters at community colleges in all 50 states. Membership eligibility requirements are stringent. A student must have a grade point average of no less than a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale; have completed at least 15 hours of course work at WNCC; and possess recognized qualities of citizenship.
New Douglas County members include Donna A. Anderson, Theresa Ansberry, Donna Ashbey, Brenda Berry, Karianne E. Bodenstein, Steven Frazer, Sharon L. Maitland, Mindy L. Millard, Sharon Morgan, Gloria M. Porath, Jennifer Reith, Regina L. Servantes, Deborah L. Smith, Mathew D. Spaulding and D. Wilson.
Other new members include Rhonda Beaver of Coleville, Calif.
