WNCC Douglas offers investing seminars
Western Nevada Community College, Douglas is offering three new investment seminars. “The ABC’s of Investing for Everyone” meets Saturday, Sept. 11; “The ABC’s of Investing for the Retired” meets Saturday, Sept. 18; and “Investments, Cash Management and Retirement Plans for Businesses” meets Saturday, Oct. 9. All classes meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“The ABC’s of Investing for Everyone” will focus on stocks, mutual funds, taxable and tax-free investments and interest bearing investments. The advantages and evaluation of each type of investment will be covered. Students will look into the use of financial newspapers and the Internet when investing.
“The ABC’s of Investing for the Retired” will cover trusts, estate planning, taxable and tax-free investments and interest-bearing investments. Students will learn to do ‘how long will my money last’ calculations.
“Investments, Cash Management and Retirement Plans for Businesses” will provide information and planning tools for all business owners. Topics will include cash management options, business investments and retirement plans.
East seminar costs $40 and includes student materials. Students are asked to register at least five days prior to each seminar at WNCC Douglas, 1680 Bently Parkway, Minden. These non-credit classes are being offered through the WNCC Douglas Community Service Division.
