Weak storm will bring windy conditions tonight
A weak storm system is expected to bring lots of wind and a little snow to Carson Valley tonight.
While just an inch of snow is expected to fall in the Western Nevada valleys, cold temperatures will leave roadways across the area slick.
Only 2-6 inches of snow is expected in the Tahoe Basin, with 8 inches over the Sierra crest, but that will also affect travel through Sunday evening and into the Monday commute.
Wind gusts of up to 45 mph are expected in Carson Valley tonight as the storm rolls through.
Winds should peak 1-6 p.m. today, dropping back down around 10 p.m.
On the other end of this storm, high pressure is forecast to bring drier conditions with light winds. Starting Wednesday a warming trend should last into next weekend.
