Washoe Tribe Senior Center sets yard sale

Staff reports

The Washoe Tribe Senior Center Site Council has scheduled a bake sale and yard sale on Saturday, Sept. 12, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Washoe Tribe Senior Center at 801 Was-She-Shu Way.

This is a fund-raiser for the Dresslerville Seniors’ Student Incentive Scholarship. The council has been giving out this award to the most outstanding 8th grade Washoe student in Douglas County for academic skills since it was established in 1987.

“This scholarship establishes a legacy in which the Washoe elders emphasize the importance of education and honor their youth,” according to the council.

The council would appreciate any items you would like to donate for the sale. Items may be dropped off at the center Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For people who would like to sell their own items, a limited number of tables will be available for a $5 fee.

Contact the center at 265-6426 for more information.
