Washoe Tribe plans cultural dinner
The Washoe Tribe’s annual Washoe Cultural Dinner will be held Dec. 20 at the Dresslerville Senior Center featuring traditional Washoe foods.
On the menu are salmon, deer, beef, rabbit, elk and a variety of vegetable dishes, plus acorn biscuits and pine nut soup.
A raffle will be held for dinner for two at the Topaz Lodge, prime rib dinner for two at Sharkey’s, pottery from the Washoe Tribal Smoke and Gift Shop, cord of wood, beaded moccasins, pine needle basket made by Lorena Burns, beaded earrings, 10 pounds of beef from Sierra Meats and many more prizes, said center director Corinne June Moore.
Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
“We need volunteers to help,” Moore added. “Please call us at the center, 265-6426.”
Cost for the dinner is $5 per person 15 years of age and older, and $2 per person, 14 and under.
