VOM missionary to speak

Staff reports

Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) representative David Witt will be the special guest speaker at High Sierra Fellowship on Sunday, Aug. 6, at 9:30 a.m.

For over 25 years, VOM has been a watchdog group for religious persecution around the world. Currently, VOM is working in dozens of countries by highlighting incidents of persecution and sending support to Christian pastors in problem areas. They also supply Christians with Bibles and help them lobby for the right to assemble and freedom of religion in their native country.

Witt is an ordained Baptist pastor from Colorado who together with his wife, Cindy, are working with VOM in the capacity of mission representatives. He and his family have traveled around the world to different countries where he has witnessed first-hand the continued persecution of Christians around the globe.

He will share at High Sierra the current information from places such as Vietnam, Indonesia, Sudan, Cuba and Laos, where Christian persecution continues.

The community is welcome.

High Sierra Fellowship is located at 1516 Highway 395, the Haas Center, in Gardnerville. For more information, call 782-7486.
