Valley Christian Fellowship youth group to serve Thanksgiving dinner

by Leo Kruger

The senior youth group at Valley Christian Fellowship will, for the third year in a row, provide a dinner on Thanksgiving Day from 1-5 p.m. This dinner is for anyone who would like to come, and there will be lots of turkeys with all the trimmings. There will most likely be food left over that folks can take home for turkey sandwiches later.

The desire of the group is to see that no one goes without a good Thanksgiving meal or without someone to share it with. We have had a variety of different people come and enjoy the meal. Some of them are from the church and many others are just from the neighborhood and all around.

Serving the people who come is what the teens are excited about. They help cook the food and then serve the meal to the people. It is a great way to show their gratitude for all that they have received from the Lord in the past year.

This year, we have the added blessing of the food ministry so people can take home some canned goods. There is an abundance of food available, so we encourage people to take as much as they need.

The dinner will be at 974 Tillman Lane in Gardnerville in the Dayspring Assembly building. Come just as you are, hungry and ready to be served.
