Unity Church to hold concert in Genoa
On Friday, Dec. 15, Unity Church of Today will present an old-fashioned family Christmas concert featuring John and Cherie Shipley and Patrick Jolly and the Jolly family at 7 p.m. in the town hall in Genoa.
“There will be something in the concert for everybody, ranging from the old-time favorites to a little bit of Western to some Christmas sing-along numbers in which all may participate,” said church spokesperson Floyd Hill.
As an added bonus, some selections from “Cherie and John’s Christmas Wish,” their new CD, will be performed for the first time.
“John and Cherie appear nationally in night clubs and casino lounges and sing regularly at the Unity church services,” Hill said.
Jolly is music director of the Unity Church of Today, which meets in Genoa, and is a Carson Valley favorite.
The concert is a fund-raiser for the church. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.
