Truck pull is coming to fairgrounds
The Carson Valley Sertoma 2000 Truck Pull takes over the Douglas County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Aug. 26, for the fifth time.
The pro circuit truck and tractor event will see more than 40 exotic muscle machines compete, with added contests just for area amateurs and a special pedal-pull for kids.
This year marks the first time two separate professional sanctioning bodies will compete in the main event: MLM MotorSports plus Country Modified Pullers. That makes it the biggest Sertoma Truck Pull ever.
Gates will open at 3 p.m., activities will start at 4 p.m. On sale will be refreshments, beer and hot-off-the grill hamburgers and hot dogs, plus nachos, and truck-pull T-shirts will also be available.
A brand new Chevy S-10 pickup will be there under the lights as the grand prize for the lucky ticket holder whose number is picked and who can kick a soccer ball right into its bed.
Tickets for grandstand seating are on sale at sponsors’ locations in Gardnerville and Minden, and, of course, can be bought at the fairgrounds from gate-opening onward. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for active-duty military and $5 for children ages 5-12. Under 5 are admitted free, and there is no charge for parking.
All proceeds go to support Douglas County charity causes and civic programs.
