Trinity raffles for new school bus

Staff Reports

Children at Trinity Lutheran Child Care Center are holding a raffle through April 15 to raise money for a new school bus.

The children of the Trinity Lutheran Childcare Center in Gardnerville are selling raffle tickets to raise money for a new school bus.

Tickets are $10 each, and are on sale through April 15.

“We have identified a new bus that will cost $26,000 and which will be used for the summer field trips,” organizer Coral Lopez said. “Without this new bus, the kids will not get any field trips.”

Raffle night is 6-8 p.m. April 19 at Carson Valley United Methodist Church.

More than $5,000 in prizes have been donated which include, a family four pack to Disneyland, an iPad, a 32-inch flat screen TV, a Heavenly Village weekend, room and show tickets to Harrah’s, a Kirkwood cabin weekend, gift certificates to many restaurants, salons, spas, and much more.

“Because we will use the bus for educational field trips it will increase the children’s knowledge of areas that might be new to them,” Assistant Director Laura Edmonds said. “We go to Reno, Tahoe, Walker River and local Gardnerville field trips as well.”
